TOASTS

WAVA TOAST

Raise your glasses and let us toast the best military organization in the best army in the world, The Washington Artillery, from whence we came.

For ( 183 ) years, and under many numerical designations, we have served our city, our state, and our nation.

May we always be together to perpetuate the spirit of the ‘Old Command’.

Now, let us drink to the Washington Artillery and to our Association.

(NOTE: add 1 year on the first of each year to determine our age. For example 2010 was 172 years so in January 2018 the battalion is 180 years old.)

Battalion Washington Artillery Toast

To our soldier comrades who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in battle, and to our many friends who have passed away.

To our ‘old command’ with its long and glorious history, may we match and exceed their deeds.

To our famed ‘Tiger Crest’ and our motto ‘Try Us’, may they ring fear in the hearts of our enemies and lead our men to victory.

Gentlemen, the Battalion, Washington Artillery.

PRAYERS

Prayer to Saint Barbara

O god, who among the other miracles of your power, have given the weaker sex the victory of martyrdom, grant, we beseech you, that we who are celebrating the heavenly birthday of blessed Barbara, your virgin and martyr, may be her example as we draw nearer to you,
AMEN
.

Opening Prayer

Our Father, Who art the Great Commander, we thy children stand uncovered in Thy presence as we open this meeting.
May the consciousness of our need, and the consciousness of our ability to supply our need be upon us.
Help us to be good citizens of our beloved Nation, to teach good citizenship to our children, and our children’s children.
Thank Thee Father for Life, for Liberty, and for a Living Faith in an eternal God and to Thy Name be Honor, and Glory, now and forever,

AMEN.

Closing Prayer

Almighty God, we beg Thee to keep us from temptation and to help us in spirit, that we may enjoy Thee for all eternity,
AMEN

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands,
